The Voice Mail That Broke One Family Apart

For the past year, Los Angeles grandmother Carolyn has been in an ongoing feud with her son's wife over an angry voice mail. Feeling that she was being kept from her grandson, Carolyn left a profanity-laced message for her daughter-in-law, Kysha. Since that call, Carolyn has not been allowed to see her 4-year-old grandchild, Cairo.

Life coach Iyanla Vazant traveled to California in hopes of bringing resolve to the feuding family. In the above video, Iyanla listens to Carolyn tell her side of the story. Then, Iyanla pulls out a tape recorder and plays her infamous voice mail.

"I told you," Carolyn said in the message. "I'm not dealing with you no more. Don't call my number no mother******* more. You can have Donye and Cairo and stick them up your fat a**, b****.

"You a little thuggish, Ms. Carolyn," Iyanla says.

"I got a little thug in me, yes I do," Carolyn admits.

It's been nearly a year since she left that message, and Carolyn says she hasn't apologized.

"No I haven't, because when I made that statement -- I meant it," Carolyn says. "And I was very, very angry."

"Out of order," Iyanla says, holding up the tape player. "On every level."

"Iyanla: Fix My Life" airs Saturday, June 21 at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.
