It's Definitely Bigfoot Or 'Something' (VIDEO)

The hunt for Bigfoot, aka Sasquatch, Yeti, Abominable Snowman, etc., has proven to be as elusive as a rainbow's pot of gold.

In recent years, images, films and videos have come up a little short in determining the existence of the legendary hairy man-beast that supposedly lives in the forests of North America and other countries.

"I have to admit that when I first started working on this series, I was a skeptic," says Keith Hoffman, executive producer of Animal Planet's "Finding Bigfoot."

In the Animal Planet video shown below, Hoffman introduces footage from New Mexico, that, he says, is home to many alleged Bigfoot sightings. The footage shows what he describes as "a figure that is clearly on two feet, walking through the woods," as captured on a thermal camera, "a camera that sees heat."

Hoffman admits it's difficult to clearly see the image in the video, despite the fact that it seems to be moving.

"It either has to be a hiker or a Bigfoot, right?" he assumes. "The hikers said they were making noise at the campsite and that this thing walked by and it was kind of lurking. According to a lot of people, Bigfoots do like to lurk."

But what we're left with here is an unclear video, shot three years ago, that purports to show something walking on two legs.

Can a hoax be entirely ruled out?

"Is this just a human walking in the woods?" ex-skeptic Hoffman wonders. "One thing that makes it seem like it could be a hoax is they didn't keep shooting. The guy says he stumbled and fell. The team skeptic [research biologist Ranae Holland] thought that it was probably just a curious hiker in the woods, but she couldn't really explain why he was so much taller than the average human."

Hoffman says he's still up in the air about the alleged Bigfoot footage.

"I'm going to put this right square in the middle of 'I don't know.'"

A word of advice to all Bigfoot hunters out there: Keep hunting.
