The 18 IKEA Products Found In Every First Apartment

Posted: Updated:

Ahh, IKEA. The one place every twentysomething goes so they can fill their most precious living quarters with affordable furnishings...that all of their friends also own.

Some might describe their relationship with the major retailer as a deliberate (budget-friendly) choice; others might say they've simply settled out of equal parts pathetic need and frustrated anger. Either way, you still walk out with the same $10 table as everyone else. Not that there's anything wrong with that -- it often builds a sense of community. Who hasn't walked into a friend's apartment and pointed to the MALMA wall mirrors sporadically placed, smiled and uttered, "IKEA?" (By the way, let's all stop doing that.)

While everyone has a certain item that defines the hazy period that is one's twenties, there are a few products, specifically from IKEA, that seem to only be reserved for first apartments. How many of these ended up in yours?
