Pope Francis vs. Swiss Guard As Argentina Plays Switzerland In World Cup Match

The Argentina vs. Switzerland World Cup match has pitted Pope Francis against his protectors, the Swiss Guard.

Though the pontiff promised to keep his prayers neutral during the international football competition that is currently the world's obsession, he reportedly joked, "It's going to be war!" to the Swiss Guard ahead of today's match.

The Vatican sent out a sly tweet that depicts the fuming pope watching his security force cheering for a rival team.

In reality, the rivalry is purely friendly. French media reported that the Swiss Guard invited Pope Francis to watch the game with them in their barracks, where they have set up a big screen and a grassy area to view the World Cup.
