Double Replay Review Confirms Indians' Rare Triple Play (VIDEO)

WATCH: Two Replay Reviews Confirms Rare Triple Play

The Cleveland Indians pulled off a wild and rare triple play against the Los Angeles Dodgers and they had to wait through not one, but two replay reviews to confirm it.

In the bottom of the fourth inning on Tuesday night with baserunners on first and third base, Dodgers slugger Adrian Gonzalez lined out to left field. Dee Gordon tried to tag up and score from third base, but Cleveland left fielder Michael Brantley threw him out at home for the second out. That's when Yasiel Puig tried to swipe second base as Indians catcher Yan Gomes threw the ball to Jason Kipnis covering the base. But Puig was called safe.

Kipnis immediately called for Cleveland manager Terry Francona to challenge the play at second. The umpires went to replay and ended up overturning the call for the rare 7-2-4 triple play. But it wasn't over just yet. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly decided to challenge the out at home plate, but the umpires upheld the original call.

"I've seen triple plays, but none quite like that," Dodgers left fielder Matt Kemp said, via the Associated Press. "I guess there's a first time for everything."
