Prince William's New Portrait Is Already Hated By Practically Everyone

How Bad Is This New Portrait Of Prince William?

There's a new official portrait of Britain's Prince William, and it's not exactly drawing rave reviews.

On Twitter, some users say the image looks more like Alan Partridge, a character created by comic Steve Coogan.

Others have been even less charitable.

"It looks like it was done by a school kid who doesn't like art," wrote Twitter user Jinx Powell Tippins.

The portrait, called "Fatherhood," was created by artist Dan Llywelyn Hall and depicts the prince wearing a poppy to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I.

The BBC says the painting will be sold in October to raise money for The Victoria Cross Trust and War Memorials Trust.

Last year, Hall's official portrait of Queen Elizabeth II drew equally harsh commentary.

"I'm convinced I achieved everything I wanted to and set out with the portrait," Hall told The Independent at the time. "I've had a tremendous reception and I'm totally indifferent to the reception of people, I really couldn't care."
