Before he starred on "Saturday Night Live" or hosted his own late night show, Jimmy Fallon was just another young stand-up comedian who bombed like everyone else.

In the "Tonight Show" video above, Fallon answers a fan question by reliving one of his most memorable sets-gone-wrong at a Catskills resort back in the day. Let's just say, crowd work isn't for everyone.

The important take away from Fallon's story, however, is that surviving a bad set only makes you a stronger comic, and it's okay to be totally scared.

"Don't be afraid to be afraid," he explains.
