Man Faces Attempted Murder Charges In Alleged Gay Hookup In Cemetery

An 18-year-old Florida man faces charges of attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a man five times after meeting him in a cemetery to have sex.

The Tallahassee Democrat is reporting that Devante L. Johnson met the victim, who was not named, in Tallahassee's Oakland Cemetery on June 24 at about 11 p.m. to have sex. It was then, the victim said, that Johnson "referred to a former boyfriend of [the victim's] by name and said no one would have to worry about [the victim] anymore," and began stabbing him repeatedly, according to court documents.

Although the victim was able to escape and drive off, he required surgery for both a punctured lung and a lacerated liver, police told WTXL-TV.

Further details on the attack were scarce.
