Katie Couric Says Goodbye To Daytime Talk Show

Katie Couric Bids Farewell

After just two seasons, Katie Couric bid farewell to viewers on Wednesday as her daytime talk show "Katie" came to an end.

Couric announced in November that she would be leaving ABC News to join Yahoo as the website's "global anchor." At the time, the fate of "Katie" was still uncertain, but ABC later announced that the show would not be continuing for its third season.

A teary-eyed Couric said Wednesday that she was still in shock by how much the show had accomplished in such a short time.

"I’m amazed at how many things we did in two years, and how many people I got a chance to talk to," she said.

The farewell episode included surprise visits from special guests like Josh Groban, Martina McBride, and one of Couric's own inspirations, actress and cancer survivor Valerie Harper. ABC News' Robin Roberts also sent a video message thanking Couric for being "a great colleague and a great friend." Audience members then received "Katie's Ultimate Swag Bag" of gift giveaways.

Just before signing off, Couric invited the show's entire staff on stage to thank them all for their hard work.

"Thank you all for the memories," she said in closing, choking up. "And as Tony Bennett aways sings, 'the best is yet to come.' Cheers."

Couric took to Twitter to send one more 'thank you' to viewers Wednesday:
