Deputies Pepper Spray 'Larger Than Normal' 6-Year-Old

Deputies in Washington County, Maryland used pepper spray to subdue an “out of control” 6-year-old boy who was allegedly attacking his grandmother with knives.

Officials responded to a home in Hancock Monday morning after receiving a report that the boy was stabbing his grandmother and attempting to stab his mother, WJLA reports.

Deputies said that when they got there, the butcher knife-wielding 6-year-old charged at them. They described the child as “larger than normal” and weighing at least 100 pounds, according to WUSA 9.

The deputies blasted the boy with pepper spray once, and he dropped to the ground, according to the Herald Mail Media.

The boy’s grandmother refused medical treatment for a wound on her hand. No other injuries were reported and no charges have been filed.
