Randy Jackson On Nicki Minaj-Mariah Carey Feud: 'It Was Definitely Difficult' (VIDEO)

Randy Jackson Reveals Truth About Nicki-Mariah Feud

As one of the original "American Idol" judges from the first episode in 2002, Randy Jackson has sat alongside a diverse panel of superstars, from Jennifer Lopez to Keith Urban. Then, in the show's 12th season, the singing competition really shook things up by bringing Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey to the judges' table -- and the chemistry between the two didn't quite go as planned.

Not long after Nicki and Mariah were announced as the new "American Idol" judges, media outlets began reporting on their alleged feud. Rumors swirled that Mariah wasn't pleased with Nicki joining the show, video emerged of the two in a heated backstage argument, each traded jabs in interviews and on Twitter, and "American Idol" cameras even captured palpable tension through the episodes.

At the time, several involved in the show tried to downplay the feud, but Jackson set the record straight when he sat down with Oprah for an interview on "Oprah: Where Are They Now?".

"Uh, let's just say that there weren't warm, fuzzy feelings," he says in the above video.

Further complicating matters for Jackson was the fact that he was friends with Mariah, who he used to manage.

"It was definitely difficult," Jackson tells Oprah. "It wasn't quite the panel we thought it was going to be."

"Oprah: Where Are They Now?" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.
