The U.S. Drone War You Don't Know About

It is no secret that the U.S. has resorted to using unmanned drones to bomb targets in countries like Yemen, Afghanistan and Pakistan in the past years. Yet while the use of drones has been rampant, little is actually known about the strikes, the program and its victims.

Jack Serle, a reporter at The Bureau of Investigative Journalism, senior HuffPost reporter David Wood and HuffPostLive host Alyona Minkovski joined HuffPost Live on Wednesday to talk about emerging technology in warfare, and how it keeps war profitable for many.

Jack Serle explained that while reports of drone strikes often focus on Yemen or Pakistan, many of the attacks are actually carried out in Afghanistan. "It's our understanding that Afghanistan is the most drone-bombed country in the world," Serle told host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani. "If you think about the countries that use drones or we know of that use drones, the UK, the U.S. and Israel, the UK and the US are using them in Afghanistan...we understand there's been more than 1,000 drone strikes there since the war began."
