Sometimes, all it takes to get what you want is one question.
With all the chivalry and courage most would lack under those circumstances, an American Idol contestant in Nashville did just that. After winning a golden ticket from judges Harry Connick Jr., Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez for his rendition of Sam Smith's "Stay With Me," the aspiring artist asked J.Lo one simple question: "Will you dance with me?"
Lopez, 45, was hesitant at first and inquired about what type of dancing he had in mind. Before the singer could answer, Urban grabbed the contestant's guitar and Connick Jr. ran to the piano yelling, "I want to get in on that."
While the American Idol hopeful may have been forward with his question, he tried to be "appropriate" and held the star at arm's length as they prepared to dance. Lopez was quick to fix that.
"You're trying to be a gentleman? Nah," the singer said before fully embracing him and resting her head on his shoulder.
With the help of the judges, the American Idol contestant serenaded J.Lo with "Stay With Me" -- Lopez smiled and closed her eyes as they swayed. In the end, it was the star who thanked the contestant for the dance.
"Oh, thank you," Lopez said. "This is so sweet. That’s the most fun I've had in months."
