Less than a week after racy photos of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones surfaced online, the 71-year-old broke his silence on the scandal, confirming the photos were real but taken five years ago.
“Someone has misrepresented photos taken at a restaurant five years ago for their own purposes," Jones told the Dallas Morning News on Sunday. "I’m just not going to comment on it.’’
The embarrassing photos, which show Jones cupping a woman's clothed breast among other ambiguous acts, were first posted online by a man named Frank Hoover. Deadspin reports that Hoover, who claims he is the "Son of God," wrote a 20-page manifesto alleging that the photos were taken by people attempting to trap Jones in an extortion plot.
