Oklahoma resident Charles Jason Moreland, 31, was charged Tuesday with threatening Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), according to the AP.

In the 10-page complaint unsealed Tuesday, prosecutors allege that Charles Jason Moreland sent expletive-filled emails to Reid in April, declaring that he was “a dead man.”

Moreland also allegedly wrote to Reid that if he ever “steps foot out of D.C. he will be done,” and added in the message that the Democrat needed to resign immediately “or face stern, harsh, unimaginable consequences to him and his family.”

This isn't the first time Reid has received threats. After criticizing rancher Cliven Bundy earlier this year, Reid received threatening letters at his home.

Other political leaders, including President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) have received threats in the past.
