Yasiel Puig Runs Right Into A Mets Triple Play (VIDEO)

Yasiel Puig can be a little too aggressive on the base paths sometimes. While he's often incredibly fun to watch, he can be frustrating too. The New York Mets benefitted from Puig's gutsy base running, when the 23-year-old Cuban phenom ran himself right into a triple play.

With Puig on second base and Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Adrian Gonzalez on first with no outs, Matt Kemp hit a sharp ground ball right to Mets third baseman Eric Campbell. The Mets quickly turned a 5-4-3 double play, but Puig inexplicably tried to score from second. Mets first baseman Lucas Duda noticed Puig's gambit and easily threw him out at home to complete the triple play and end the sixth inning.

"It's just the wrong play," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said on Puig's baserunning, per MLB.com. "It's what we talked to him about. We always go back to, on those types of plays, you play the scoreboard. Today it was the wrong play, and he's going to make mistakes, and we're going to live with that and we're going to keep teaching him."
