A handful of Washington players were upset with the NFL's two-game suspension of safety Brandon Meriweather for a helmet-to-helmet hit he made during a preseason game. One of those players, Washington long snapper Nick Sundberg, reminded his Twitter followers that Meriweather received a two-game suspension just like Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice.

The 27-year-old Rice received his two-game suspension following an offseason arrest for domestic violence. Rice allegedly struck his then-fiancee, Janay Palmer, during an altercation at a casino in Atlantic City. Surveillance footage showed him dragging a seemingly unconscious Palmer out of the elevator.

As for Meriweather, it's almost as if he only makes headlines for making illegal hits. According to the Washington Post, it's Meriweather's sixth career violation of the rules regarding unnecessary roughness hits on defenseless players. Some of those came last season, leading to a two-game suspension that was later reduced to one on appeal.
