Paul Ryan Says He'll Wait Until 2015 To Decide On A Presidential Bid

While Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) hasn’t announced plans to run for president in 2016, he is certainly open to the possibility, telling Larry King in an interview set to air Thursday, “I’ll make my mind up with my family in 2015.”

Speculation about a presidential bid for the former vice presidential candidate intensified after Mitt Romney, his running mate on the failed 2012 GOP ticket, announced that “unless circumstances change,” he isn’t considering a run. For now, Ryan says, he is content to “offer ideas” and “show alternatives” to what he sees as a country headed in the wrong direction.

Ryan also has big hopes for the Republican Party, which has struggled to win votes from women and minorities, saying he would like the conservative movement to become more inclusive.

When asked about Hillary Clinton, Ryan says he expects her to run. On the other hand, he says, it wouldn’t surprise him if the former secretary of state would “take a pass,” even if she's nominated.
