How can we get children excited about eating fruits and vegetables?
Lisa Helfman, founder of Brighter Bites, joined HuffPost Life host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani to discuss how a food co-op is an effective way to build healthy eating habits in children.
“In Brighter Bites, we go into the schools in the inner city and food deserts that don’t have a lot of access to fresh fruit and vegetables,” said Helfman. “We do food distribution where we send home 50 servings, 30 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables -- everything from apples and bananas to kale and spinach, you name it.”
