When This Baby White Rhino Gallops, Everything Feels Right In The World

It's been at least 20 years since a female white rhino has been born at Ramat Gan Safari in Israel, but no one seems to be celebrating more than the baby rhino herself.

Watch the video above to see her galloping as she happily explores her new space.

According to The Times of Israel, two males have been born at Ramat Gan in recent years but were transferred to other zoos to help reproduction rates.

But this three-week-old, 100 pound female will be the first white rhino in decades to stay beyond maturity at the facility, where she'll live in a free-range environment with parents Tanda and Atari.

White rhinos are the second largest land mammals, and are listed as "near threatened" by the World Wildlife Fund. They live in herds and aren't as aggressive as other rhinos, which has made them a particular target of poachers; according to Save The Rhino the population currently hovers around 20,409.
