Pistons' Greg Monroe 'Urinated On Himself' During Arrest: Cops

NBA Player Urinated On Himself During Arrest, Cops Say

The Detroit Pistons' Greg Monroe urinated on himself during a drunken driving arrest in Huntington Woods, Michigan, last February, police said.

Monroe pleaded guilty to driving impaired in April and recently was suspended for two games by the NBA after the league learned of the incident.

Michigan news outlet MLive released details of the arrest Wednesday, citing a police report that said the 6-foot-11-inch Monroe "urinated on himself during the booking process."

A spokesperson with the Huntington Woods Public Safety Department confirmed the report with The Huffington Post.

Edited dashboard camera footage of the arrest (above) shows one of the officers making a comment about his own height in comparison to Monroe's, then asking about Monroe's education level. Then the player attempts to walk a straight line as part of the sobriety test.

Once inside the squad car, Monroe can faintly be heard telling the officers that he's trying to stay out of the newspaper.

According to the Detroit News, Monroe will serve his suspension in the Pistons' first two games of the coming season, Oct. 29 in Denver and Oct. 30 in Minnesota.

"I wish I didn’t have that last glass of wine,” Monroe told the Detroit News on Tuesday. “I was trying to be responsible. I deeply regret what happened.”
