Fox News Guest Rips 'Fox & Friends' For Offensive Ray Rice Comments

Fox Guest Tears Into Network For Ray Rice Comments

A Fox News guest boldly criticized the network Sunday for another Fox News host's extremely offensive comments on the Ray Rice video.

USA Today sports columnist Christine Brennan called out "Fox & Friends" host Brian Kilmeade for telling viewers that the message of the video of Ray Rice's assault on his then-fiancee was to "take the stairs."

"How do those words come out of your mouth?" Brennan asked on "Media Buzz" with Howard Kurtz.

Brennan said that Fox News itself was one of the networks that was "treating it as entertainment," and suggested that Kilmeade's comments were an attempt at "driving ratings and clicks."

Kurtz seemed to defend the host, calling the incident an "unfortunate misstep" and noting that Kilmeade did apologize the next day. That apology, of course, was a grand total of 13 seconds long and some wondered if it was even an apology at all.

"I was glad they came back the next day and said, ‘We didn’t mean to give the impression we take this lightly,'" Kurtz said.

"But boy, they did," Brennan continued.
