Bear Escapes Southern California Heat Wave By Chilling In The Pool

Pool Helps Make SoCal Heat Wave Bear-able

With temperatures soaring in Southern California, everyone's looking for a little relief -- even the bears.

This black bear took a dip in a pool at a home in Sierra Madre, in Los Angeles County, on Sunday afternoon.

Resident Thomas See told NBC Los Angeles that bears are often sighted on trash days in the community, which is the in the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley, but this is the first time he's seen one in his pool.

Pool owners, take heed: triple-digit heat is expected in the area through at least Wednesday, so don't be surprised if a few more critters take a dip to help make it more bearable.
