This 'Jeopardy!' Contestant's 'Cheers' Reference Is The Best Fail Ever

This 'Cheers' Reference Is The Best 'Jeopardy!' Fail Ever

Everybody is about to know her name.

We've seen some hilarious "Jeopardy!" responses over the years, but Elizabeth Williams may have just made the greatest of them all.

Williams, who was the leader heading into Final Jeopardy, was completely stumped by a clue about the identity of a mysterious author. So, rather than just guess a random name, she answered, "Who is someone who's never been in my kitchen."

"Cheers" fans will recognize this as a blatant reference to the response Cliff Clavin made during an appearance on "Jeopardy!" in Season 8. Unlike Clavin, who lost it all in the round, Williams wagered much less, so her answer wasn't just hilarious. It also won her the game.

Correction: A previous version stated Williams wagered nothing, but there was a bid of $600.
