Climate activists from around the world are coming together to take part in the People's Climate March in New York City this Sunday, Sept. 21.

To kick off the weekend's activities, organizers are hosting top climate ambassadors for an opening night event at ABC Carpet and Home. The event is invitation-only but you can click on the video above a little after 7:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, Sept. 19 for a live-stream.

This special event features activists Bill McKibben, Michael Brune, Vandana Shiva, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Elizabeth Yeampierre. The event will also include musical performances from Donovan and Antonique Smith.

The People's Climate March will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Columbus Circle in Manhattan and end on 11th Avenue between 34th Street and 38th Street. Hailed as the largest climate march in history by organizers, over a thousand groups have signed up to participate, including schools, unions, environmental organizations, faith groups, businesses and more. The march is timed to coincide with the United Nations Climate Summit on Sept. 23, which will bring together world leaders in an attempt to galvanize support for a strong international climate agreement in 2015.
