When Soldier Returns Home, Her Toddler Son Can't Contain His Excitement

Military reunion videos have a way of making you feel like you're in a room full of people chopping onions. That's certainly the case with this one.

When 3-year-old Cooper Waldvogel's mom returned home to Minnesota after serving nine months in Afghanistan, he didn't let military protocol stop him from greeting her immediately. Kathryn Waldvogel had spent almost a year overseas with the National Guard's 114th Transportation, and as she stood in formation with her fellow soldiers, waiting to be dismissed, her son Cooper ran straight into her arms.

The beautiful moment was captured by a photographer from the local news station KARE 11. After KARE posted the video on Facebook, viral mania ensued. To date, it has garnered almost 100,000 "likes."

"I was longing to hold him, that's all that I thought about," the mom told KARE

Really, though, who is chopping all of these onions?
