Avril Lavigne was surrounded by friends as she turned 30 on Saturday night, but her husband Chad Kroeger was noticeably absent from the singer's bash at The Bank Nightclub in Las Vegas, reports Us Weekly.
The Canadian singer was all smiles in a hot pink strapless dress, but Kroeger's absence only fuels rumors that couple are on the brink of divorce.
“It’s over,” a source told Us Weekly. “[Kroeger] has been going around LA telling people that they are divorcing.”
Rumors of a split began earlier this month, though People magazine notes that the pair haven't been seen together since late April and suggest that the relationship is likely over since they've been spotted breaking some of the self-imposed rules they set for a successful marriage. Last year, the musicians told the magazine that they wouldn't drink when they weren't together, and they wouldn't spend more than two weeks apart from each other.
The Nickelback frontman proposed to Lavigne in August 2012, after dating for just over a month. The couple, who also sport matching tattoos with the phrase, "live in the present moment" in French on their left forearms, went on to tie the knot in July 2013 in a lavish ceremony in a castle in the south of France.
So far neither Lavigne nor Kroeger have commented on the rumors.
