ISIS Sympathizer Allegedly Threatens Co-Worker With Beheading

An Oklahoma man was fired from his job at a nursing home and arrested Friday after police say he threatened to cut a co-worker's head off.

Jacob Mugambi Muriithi is being held in the Oklahoma County jail on a terrorism complaint. The 30-year-old Kenyan man, who is living in Oklahoma City, allegedly aimed the threat a female colleague at Bellevue Nursing Home during work hours on Sept. 19.

Muriithi told the woman that he was a Muslim and that he “represented ISIS and that ISIS kills Christians,” Oklahoma City Police Captain Dexter Nelson wrote in an affidavit.

He was collared on the same day that another Oklahoma man, Alton Nolen, was arrested over an alleged stabbing where one of the victims was beheaded. Police said that the cases are not connected.

In Muriithi's case, the victim initially assumed he was joking around and asked him whether he intended to kill her, to which the suspect replied, "Yes." He said he would cut her head off with a "blade" and post photos of it to Facebook.

“The victim said [Muriithi] was serious when speaking and never made any statements that he was joking or playing around," Nelson wrote in his affidavit, adding that Muriithi repeated the threat later that day.

Muriithi's bail is set at $1 million.

“We take these threats very seriously,” Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater told NewsOK.
