Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice (D) defeated Republican Bruce Blakeman and was elected to Congress in New York's 4th congressional district on Tuesday.
Rice will replace Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.), who has represented the district since 1996.
