George Clooney Hunts For The Future In 'Tomorrowland' Teaser

"Imagine a place where nothing is impossible," says the tagline for Disney's new movie, "Tomorrowland," starring George Clooney. The first teaser debuted at New York Comic-Con on Thursday and previews Clooney and co-star Britt Robertson's time traveling adventure.

Disney's description of the film reads:

Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” What they must do there changes the world -- and them -- forever.

"What Hogwarts is to magic, Tomorrowland is to science," David Lindelof, who wrote the film with Brad Bird, told EW. "They are both easy to find if you are a wizard and very difficult to find if you’re a Muggle. Walt Disney is not a character in our movie, but he is referenced as having some involvement in this mysterious place called Tomorrowland, as a huge futurist and aficionado of space travel, rocketry, cities of the future, and space travel.” Lindelof, Bird and Jeff Jensen, who is also an executive producer, came up with the story. Bird will direct.

The filmmakers began teasing the film back in August when they presented faux Disney artifacts in a futuristic exhibition at the D23 Expo. "Tomorrowland" hits theaters May 22, 2015.
