Firefighters Make Daring Rescue Of Man Trapped In Flood Waters

Dramatic helicopter news footage captured the incredible work of one fire crew and their heroic rescue of a man trapped in a van.

Parts of Arizona experienced flash flooding and heavy rain from the tail-end of Hurricane Simon on Thursday. In Apache Junction, an area that was undergoing these extreme weather conditions, a van got stuck in the high waters. Onlookers called 911, and a team of firefighters answered the call, heading into the water and rescuing the driver from the flood, according to Fox 10.

"The first engine parked and the second went ahead and pulled up to the van and pulled the gentlemen out," Kelly Griffin, a witness to the rescue, told Fox 10.

The van had stalled after driving into a low spot on the street, according to the Associated Press.

The man seemed unharmed, and was up and walking after the rescue, thanks to the firefighters, ABC15 reported.
