Mysterious Man In Woods: 'I'm Naked... Please Don't Shoot Me'

A man looking to hunt animals apparently rescued a naked, confused man instead.

From Georgia hunter Casey Sanders' YouTube video description:

I showed up to my stand to bow hunt on Thursday October the 2nd and hear someone yell. I looked down to find a man standing in the creek holding a walking stick with not a stitch of clothing on him. Claimed he had been beaten up by some guys at Tommorwworld then dropped in the woods after they stripped him of everything. He spent days trying to find water and then he stuck to the creek once he found it. He recalled his number and I got in touch with somebody to come get him after I led him to the road.

"I hear, 'I'm naked,' and I looked down and he's standing there in the middle of the creek," Sanders said. "He's not wearing anything at all."

In the video, the man can be heard saying "please don't shoot me."

The Blaze reportedly got in touch with the naked man in the video, who is identified as "Carl."

Carl admitted that the story he told Sanders about being mugged was untrue.

The real story, according to him, paints Carl as less of a crime victim and more of a person who took drugs and blacked out.

As the Blaze reports:

See, it wasn’t that Carl was necessarily attacked, beaten, stripped and left in the woods. He told the TheBlaze he was at the festival and took a concoction of drugs including “sass,” MDA and LSD. That led to a wild string of events. The last thing he remembers, he said, was leaving the main stage on Saturday, only to have a memory of being “restrained” in a medical tent and someone trying to inject him with something. He then awoke in the woods, still not completely coherent.

He said he told Sanders the original story because telling the hunter he was on drugs wasn't "exactly something I want to tell somebody with a loaded bow.”

Carl said many skeptics think he's making up his whole ordeal because there's no way he could have survived four days without water. But Carl said he did have access to that life-sustaining substance.

"Up until I found the stream, the only water I was finding was in little holes and puddles and then drinking off of leaves," Carl said. "I had a couple of half-rotten crab apples, and that was the only thing I had to eat in, like, five days.”

Sanders has had his share of detractors as well. Many commenters said he was being overly hostile to a man clearly in need of help.

"I know I was confrontational at first, but what you don't see is the hour after that of me getting him to safety," Sanders writes in a response to comments on YouTube. "I mean I did save his life and I didn't call the cops. Sorry I wasn't so trusting to [a] random stranger naked in the creek out in the middle of the woods who couldn't differ a dream from reality. I didn't exactly have a script in my head of this is what I will do when I find a naked man in a creek."
