Someone Pranked S.F. Neighborhood With Hooters Notice

Talk about a Halloween scare.

A prankster in an upscale San Francisco neighborhood put up a fake notice that Hooters was moving in and applying for its liquor license, S.F. Eater reported.

A counterfeit Alcoholic Beverage Control application for change of ownership was spotted Saturday in the stroller- and -cafe-filled Noe Valley area, at a bar that closed last year after a fire. But a quick bit of detective work uncovered the hoax. Eater noted that there's no application on file for the so-called "Neighborhooters." The report also pointed out a flaw on the notice: the listed corporate name of "Hooters, LLC" is bogus; it would correctly be "Hooters of America, LLC."

The jokester got at least one compliment for his efforts:

.@NoeValleySF @ErosResmini Also, the corporate name is Hooters of America, LLC. Great prank though!

Trick or treat indeed.

Hooters, a "breastaurant" chain known for its chicken wings and waitresses in skimpy outfits, closed an outlet at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco in 2011; though San Francisco has since remained Hooters-free, there's a location in nearby San Bruno.
