It didn't seem difficult for Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones to describe his team's season. Even after getting swept in the American League Championship Series by the red-hot Kansas City Royals, the outspoken leader of the O's only used two words when asked to sum up the 2014 season:

"Fucking awesome," Jones said.

Can you blame him? Jones, a four-time All-Star, helped lead the Orioles to 96 wins (tied for the second best record in baseball) as they captured their first AL East championship and first ALCS berth since 1997. Jones later talked about how his team exceeded others' expectations.

"As a team, we played our [butts] off to get in this position," Jones told Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com. "We weren't expected to. According to Sports Illustrated, we were supposed to be out of it by June."
