Mom Viciously Abused Daughter For Not Counting To 12: Cops

A Pennsylvania mom is accused of resorting to extreme abuse after her 6-year-old daughter couldn't count to 12.

Details of the alleged abuse may be disturbing to some readers.

WPXI reports that Brittany Ruck, 25, of Conway is accused of pulling her daughter's hair so hard it caused serious injury during the Aug. 31 incident.

"The doctors told us there was a separation of the victim from her skull,” Conway police Officer Mike Priolo said.

Ruck allegedly admitted to police that she pulled her daughter's hair in an attempt to get her to pay attention.

"The little girl told us she could only count to 10 because she had 10 fingers, but she couldn’t count any higher. That’s when the mother grabbed her by her hair,” Priolo said.

KDKA reports that police started investigating after hospital staff told them about the girl's injuries.

"The head injury was described in medical terms as traction," Priolo said. “It is a separation between the scalp and skull which creates a void that fills with blood. The blood ended up pooling around the eyes, giving her raccoon eyes.”

Ruck was charged this week with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
