The Fried Green Tomato Grilled Cheese Is Sandwich Perfection

Sometimes people get creative with grilled cheese sandwiches and it's not a good thing, like when they use it to replace the bun on a burger. The grilled cheese sandwich is so good as it is, so why should we mess with perfection? Unless, of course, that creativity includes fried green tomatoes. In that case, have at it.

One of our favorite food bloggers, Foodie Crush, did just that. She took the idea of adding tomatoes to a grilled cheese -- which we know not everyone agrees with -- and gave it a Southern twist. Folks, it's glorious. Let us introduce you to the fried green tomato grilled cheese sandwich.

We know that haters are going to hate on this sandwich because it's different and totally over the top. Health nuts will say it makes an already unhealthy sandwich a million and five times less healthy. And grilled-cheese purists will whine that nothing belongs in a grilled cheese but bread, butter and cheese. To all you out there who aren't on board, we say this: good riddance. More for us.
