This Footage Of A Drone Ballet Is Surprisingly Soothing

We've had the suspicion for a while now that drones may very well take over the world. But never before has the prospect seemed so hypnotically beautiful.

English electronic trio Marconi Union enlisted Richard Johnston to create the video for their song "Weightless," yielding a hallucinatory robot ballet that's surprisingly mellifluous. Johnston created the video using a time-lapse technique, copy and pasting the drones' movements to create the illusion of fluid movement. The result is reminiscent of "Fantasia" for the contemporary set. Check it out below.
