Eric Holder Compares Dick Cheney To Frank Underwood

Attorney General Eric Holder compared former Vice President Dick Cheney to Frank Underwood, the conniving, power-hungry protagonist in the Netflix series "House of Cards," in an interview at the Washington Ideas Forum on Wednesday.

Holder, who has previously expressed his love for the HBO series "The Wire," told The Washington Post's Jonathan Capehart that he liked to "bingewatch not-too-serious television," mentioning the series "Boardwalk Empire" and "Homeland."

Asked whether "Homeland," "Scandal," "Veep" or "House of Cards" offered the most realistic depiction of Washington, D.C., Holder pointed to the Netflix series.

“Depending on the administration, I’d say 'House of Cards.' There was a pretty bad vice president in 'House of Cards,' but I’ll leave it at that,” Holder said.

While not specifically mentioning Cheney by name, Holder left little doubt who he was talking about.

"I like Joe Biden, so I'm not talking about him," Holder said.
