Deion Sanders Says Russell Wilson Is 'Black To Me'

Percy Harvin's divorce with the Seattle Seahawks, via a trade that sent the wide receiver to the New York Jets for a fifth-round pick, caused enough drama by itself. Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report wrote that Harvin didn't like quarterback Russell Wilson, and that some Seahawks players think Wilson "isn't black enough."

In a HuffPost Live interview, Hall of Famer Deion Sanders slammed the notion, saying Wilson "is black to me."

"Russell is a good kid, man. I know him personally," Sanders told host Nancy Redd. "He is a godly, Christian, good kid. He's a good dude."

Sanders went on to say dysfunction is not uncommon among NFL teams.

"Often times, you got 53 guys on a roster, another 8-10 on the practice squad, and everyone's not for you. Even though you're a team, you're wearing the same jersey, the same helmet, the same everything, you're still individuals. Some jealously arises," he said.
