After two of the greatest quarterbacks of all time battled once again on Sunday, Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger did something neither of them have ever done.

Big Ben threw six touchdown passes in one game for the second week in a row, becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to throw 12 touchdown passes in two straight games. Over the two-game span, the two-time Super Bowl champ threw for 862 yards (including a Steelers record 522 yards against the Colts) and completed 75 percent of his total passes. As Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons described it to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: “It was like a video game out there."

How good has Big Ben been over the last two games? Here are six astounding stats and facts about Roethlisberger's two consecutive six-touchdown games:

  1. His 12 touchdowns over the last two weeks are more than the amount Tom Brady and Peyton Manning have combined over the same span.

  • 11 teams haven't thrown 12 touchdown passes yet this season
  • Roethlisberger is only the second quarterback in NFL history to have two games with six touchdown passes in a single season, per ESPN Stats and Info.
  • He's thrown more touchdown passes in the last two weeks than he did in the first seven games combined.
  • He's thrown for 862 passing yards in two games. That's more than half of the total passing yards that Russell Wilson and Eli Manning each have thrown for this season.
  • Throughout the first eight games of the season, the Ravens only allowed seven passing touchdowns. They gave up six to Roethlisberger in Week 9.
