Rep. Andy Barr (R-Ky.) was projected to defeat Democrat Elisabeth Jensen in the state's 6th Congressional District on Tuesday.
Barr was first elected to Congress in 2012, after previously working as an attorney and in Republican politics. He also ran for the seat unsuccessfully in 2010, losing by just a few hundred votes.
Jensen, who runs an education nonprofit in Lexington, worked to distance herself from President Barack Obama, who remains unpopular in the state.
