Dave Domina Loses Nebraska Senate Race

Democrat Dave Domina was defeated by Republican Ben Sasse in Nebraska's Senate contest Tuesday.

The two were hoping to succeed retiring Republican Sen. Mike Johanns.

Sasse, who is the president of Midland University in Fremont, was considered the overwhelming favorite heading into the general election Nov. 4. With the help of the Club for Growth, the Tea Party Patriots, the Senate Conservatives Fund and FreedomWorks, Sasse beat four other Republicans in a primary earlier this year.

Domina, who is a trial lawyer, defeated Larry Marvin in the Democratic primary.
