Rep. David Loebsack (D-Iowa) defeated Republican ophthalmologist Mariannette Miller-Meeks in the state's 2nd District Tuesday.
This was the third time the candidates had faced each other, with Loebsack beating Miller-Meeks in both 2008 and 2010.
Loebsack was first elected to Congress in 2006, while Miller-Meeks served for three years as the Director of the Iowa Department of Public Health
