Democratic lawyer Ken Dious lost the race to represent Georgia's 10th congressional district on Tuesday to anti-Islam Republican Jody Hice.
Hice was endorsed by Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.), who has represented the 10th district since 2007. Broun ran in the Republican primary for Senate this year but lost to David Perdue.
According to his website, Dious was the first African-American attorney to practice in his hometown of Athens.
