Republican Suzanna Scholte was defeated by Democratic incumbent Rep. Gerry Connolly in Tuesday's midterm elections.
Scholte has been president of the non-profit Defense Forum Foundation since 1988, according to her website. Connolly was first elected to Congress in 2008, and before that worked on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and as a staffer on the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
