An anonymous user on a popular Internet forum posted photos of what appears to be the body of a strangled woman on Tuesday.
At 3:30 p.m, less than an hour after the post, Washington state police said they found the body of a woman in the city of Port Orchard, where the user said it would be.
The images, which were posted to the website 4chan, show the body of a naked woman, her head titled back and thin red marks around her neck possibly indicating strangulation. The photos are extremely graphic.
"Turns out it's way harder to strangle someone to death than it looks on the movies," the anonymous user wrote. "She fought so damn hard."
Deputy Scott Wilson, spokesman for the Kitsap County sheriff's office, told the Associated Press that the body of a woman was found less than a half hour after the post went up. Authorities said they are aware of the photos, but are "unable to confirm whether those photographs are of this victim."
Wilson told the Port Orchard Independent that a family member found the body of the woman, who is in her early 30s and is not being named at this time.
The anonymous poster said he expected the woman's son to arrive home from school and find the body. The poster continued:
"Check the news for port orchard Washington in a few hours. Her son will be home from school soon. He'll find her, then call the cops. I just wanted to share the pics before they find me. I bought a bb gun that looks realistic enough. When they come, I'll pull it and it will be suicide by cop. I understand the doubts. Just check the fucking news. I have to lose my phone now."
Police said the suspect fled the scene in a gold 2001 Ford Focus, license plate number 495-YLY.
