Dan Benishek Defeats Jerry Cannon In Michigan Midterm Election

Rep. Dan Benishek (R-Mich.) won a third term in Congress in Tuesday's midterm election.

Benishek defeated Democrat Jerry Cannon. He was first elected to represent Michigan's 1st District in 2010.

Cannon is a retired general and former sheriff of Kalkaska County, Michigan, who was the commander of the Joint Detention Operations Group at Guantanamo Bay, according to The Leader.
