Rep. Raul Ruiz (D-Calif.) won his re-election bid Tuesday, besting Republican rival Brian Nestande in the race to represent California's 36th Congressional District.
Ruiz was first elected in 2012, defeating incumbent Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R). Prior to serving in the House, Ruiz was the associate dean at the University of California Riverside's School of Medicine.
