Bill Clinton Dishes On Being A 'First Husband' In Ellen DeGeneres Interview

Clinton Dishes On Being A 'First Husband'

Former President Bill Clinton made a big announcement about his wife Hillary during an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Tuesday.

"She's the happiest grandmother in the world," Clinton told host Ellen DeGeneres to cheers from the crowd.

"I do want to say something seriously, but I don’t know what Hillary’s going to do, it’s true," Clinton continued, referencing his wife's potential 2016 campaign. "If I did I wouldn’t tell you, but I don’t know."

But DeGeneres wasn't buying it. In an attempt to get an answer out of the former president, she held up two onesies for Clinton's new granddaughter Charlotte. One said, "My grandma's a stay-at-home granny," and the other said, "My grandma's running for president in 2016."

"If you could only pick one, because I can't afford to give you both," DeGeneres said, causing Clinton to crack up.

Pointing to the "president" onesie, Clinton said, "it would be best for the country."

"However, if I did that, then Hillary would start taking me up to total strangers and saying, 'have you met my first husband?' because it’s not a decision for me to make. If I pick that one [the granny onesie], she would be happy as a clam and so would I," Clinton said. "So, keep them both and give her the right one when she decides."
