Dad Transforms Into Spider-Man To Give Terminally Ill Son A Birthday He'll Never Forget

One British man recently transformed himself into "The Amazing Spider-Dad" to give his terminally ill son a truly unforgettable birthday surprise.

In the video below, watch as Mike Wilson -- decked out in a replica Spider-Man costume -- jumps down from the roof of his home to say hello to his stunned son, Jayden, on the boy’s fifth birthday.

“Are you Jayden?” the superhero dad, mimicking an American accent, said to his starstruck little boy. “Man, it’s good to see you buddy.”

Jayden was diagnosed with a grade 4 brain stem tumor last September. At the time, doctors said the boy had about a year to live.

Wilson told The Independent that Jayden “absolutely loves” Spider-Man. So when the boy’s birthday approached this year, Wilson said he desperately wanted to surprise his son “with one of his favorite heroes.”

The dad contacted two costume designers who agreed to help him create a replica Spider-Man suit. “We had the costume printed in America and then got to work putting it together,” Wilson told The Independent. “It was finished about three weeks before Jayden's birthday so perfect timing to work out how to surprise him.”

In the end, the super birthday surprise went off without a hitch. “I’m so proud I managed to do this for him,” Wilson, a professional freerunner, wrote on YouTube Sunday. “Today [Jayden] is still with us fighting [his illness] all the way, but at least he has Spider-Man to take care of him.”
